Laser Technical Tips

Brother Laser Printers have a seperate toner cartridge and drum cartridge that the toner cartridge fits into. The page yield of the cartridge and page yield of the drum determine how often the drum will have to be replaced. We can supply you with this information. Always remember that the drum cartridge is light sensitive so never leave it out of the printer.

Brother printers using a TN-630 or TN-660 toner cartrrdge when changing to new cartridge and won't print, pull the drum cartridge out and slide the corona tab over and back to seated position. This tab is on top farthest away and is a light green color, besure you return it to it's home position.

If your canon has an error the first thing to try is unplug the machine for 10 minutes as this will reset it. If you install a new toner and recieve an error stating "toner not set. replace toner cartridge" Turn the power off remove the toner cartidge and pull the paper tray out. Using a can of canned air (in a pinch simply blowing real hard) clean the sensor on the bottom side of the printer. This error has nothing to do with the cartridge it is a dirty sensor.

When installing the newer cartridges with chips turn the power off before installing the toner cartridge, as this will eliminate arcing the chip.

Hp Printers have maintenance kits available to keep your printer running. These kits include replacement fusers, separation pads, and pickup rollers.

The HP 2600 color laser printer has a problem with the magente(red) mirrors in the laser getting dirty requiring the laser to be removed and cleaned. Sometimes the red will print faint or not at all.

If you receive a 49.4C02 error, cancel print job and clear the printer que. This is normally a bad file being sent to the printer.

ALL TONER CARTIDGES THAT QUIT BEFORE THEY ARE EMPTY (except when the chip stops it) NEED TO BE LIGHTLY SHOOK OR ROCKED TO MOVE THE TONER DOWN. TONER DOESN'T DRY UP BUT WILL CLUMP UP WITH HUMIDITY CHANGES.
