DO NOT ACCEPT PRINTER UPDATES!! This can cause cartridges to quit working because of firmware
changes.
If your installing a new or refilled cartridge or at anytime the printer
goes into an error, the first suspect is the cartridge. Most people think the printer is going bad which usually isn't the
case. We have machines to electically test the cartridges. The cartridge is i.d.'d by the value of the lead resistor and if
this goes out of spec will cause an error. Before bringing the cartridge to us use a damp paper towel and clean (using water) the
contacts on the cartridge and the printer and try again.
Most refilled cartridges will not show ink levels. In all actuallity there isn't anything in the cartridge
that reads ink level. This is a written program in the eprom deducting 5% to 15% sheet coverage everytime you print. Ink monitors
are not accurate.
HOW TO RESET A REMANUFACTURED HP INK CARTRIDGE:
1. Install the cartridge into the HP printer, then turn the printer on.
2. Hold the "resume" button on the printer's control panel.
3. Let go of the "resume" button after 15 seconds. The printer will perform a "hard"
reset and acknowledge the cartridge same as a new cartridge.

HP ENVY PRINTERS THAT USE THE #62 AND #63 CARTRIDGES:
HP has played some
games with these printers. When installing drivers it gives you an installation agreement (which most people simply click
yes and don't read) you are actually agreeing to let HP to monitor your internet connection usage and printer usage. To change
this delete the drivers and when you reload under the installation agreement you have the option for more info. Under this
section you can uncheck Internet Connection Usage and uncheck Auto software update and usage info to be sent to HP.

RECENT HP FIRMWARE CHANGES:
HP has made firmware changes for some models. If you have accepted a firmware update it can cause your cartridges or cartridge
chips to read older generation. You will need a newer date cartridge or new version chip. We have received calls from people
who purchased new cartridges from large retailers and received this message. If this happens to you please call HP and voice
your dissatisfaction - if enough people complain maybe they will stop the games they are playing!!!!

on these printers press and hold the stop/resume button for 10 seconds. This will clear and reset.
HP
PRO X QUALITY ISSUES
These printers use the #970/971 cartridges and have been found to be paper type
sensitive. HP is aware of this problem and will offer no resolve. The catch tray and print head will need to be cleaned (simple
procedure - call us) and change to color lock paper.
